Dare to Take (Dare to Love #6)

She was off limits,
But he couldn't resist.

There are just some guys you don't touch--even someone as innocent and inexperienced as Ella Shaw knows that. But when her brother's best friend is up for grabs and willing, she can't resist. After all, she's wanted him for years...

On leave from the army, Tyler Dare is just looking for a little fun, but his best friend's sister is off limits. Yet unable to deny how sexy and alluring she is, he finds it all too easy to succumb to a night of passion and heat that ends the next morning in the worst way possible.

Now, Ella is stranded on a tropical island with a hurricane bearing down, and only Tyler can save her. It's his chance to make amends for the past and show the woman he's never forgotten that he's coming after her . . . in more ways than one.

Goodreads

Ok to start this off we'll begin with a technical note, a) because of our blog name and b) because I was confused at first when I started reading hehe
So from the blurb you understand that Tyler has a best friend and said best friend has a sister he likes... In the book though Ella has a friend and is that friend who has a brother... So nothing big just something that caught my eye while reading, I undestand that most of you are no so OCD.

Moving on to the good stuff now!
Dare to Take is the 6th book in the Dare series, but you can read it as a stand alone, as I did. You get to see the rest of the family and the author makes sure to include enough information in each of their stories to give the background characters life without overwelming the reader with other stories arcs.

I loved that Ella and Tyler had history, that they knew each other in a way and yet they were practically strangers. They had a lot of chemestry so it was easy to see how the rest of the family were expecting this relationship.

What I enjoyed the most though, was that the book wasn't just a love story. While Ella is in a tropical island she gets mugged and stranded due to a huracan, and Tyler comes to her rescue. Once back on main land things are still a little weird, someone is chasing Ella and thankgoodness pushing her to Tyler. So the mistery, while a little easy to guess, was a nice twist to the cliché.

Tyler is really trying to make amends for what happened years ago but Elle won't make it easy on him. These two bicker like and old couple and go at each other like teenegers.

Dare to Take in the kind of read you want on a busy week to keep your mind off and enjoy a good book.

REVIEW: THE WEDDING PACT

6:03 PM 0 Comments
Carrigan O'Malley has fallen in love with family enemy #1, James Halloran and he has absolutely no intention of letting her get away.  THE WEDDING PACT is the second book in a smoking-hot series about the O'Malleys—wealthy, powerful, and full of scandalous family secrets from New York Times Bestseller Katee Robert and Forever Romance.

THE WEDDING PACT (The O'Malley Series #2)
by Katee Robert
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: April 26, 2016
Publisher: Grand Central Publishing- Forever

Carrigan O'Malley has always known her arranged marriage would be more about power and prestige than passion. But after one taste of the hard-bodied, whiskey-voiced James Halloran, she's ruined for anyone else. Too bad James and his family are enemy number 1.

Hallorans vs. O'Malleys—that's how it's always been. James should be thinking more about how to expand his family's empire instead of how silky Carrigan's skin is against his and how he can next get her into his bed. Those are dangerous thoughts. But not nearly as dangerous as he'll be if he can't get what he wants: Carrigan by his side for the rest of their lives.

Oh wow, this book had me at the edge of my seat all the time! Katee Robert wrote such a wonderful, thrilling and compelling story I couldn't get away.

Carrigan has manage to live her life pleasing her father but away from marriage. She always knew the time would come and that the choice wouldn't be hers but when that day finally comes she's no ready. She loves her wild nights out whereshe can be herself and not an instrument in her family's game of power.

James has never wanted to be in power. Actually, he always wanted to get away and become as diferent from his family as he could, but wishing is useless now that he's the new head of the Hallorans.

The Wedding Pact is like an action movie of Romeo and Juliet. Three families compete for power in the streets of Boston. Each with a territory and all wanting more. All walking slowly and carefully with a war and a pace agreement that won't hold much longer. The Hallorans and the O'Malleys hate eachother the most. And considering James kidnapped Carrigan a few months before they don't like each other very much but their atraction is undeniable.

I loved how they relationship evolved with time. They met by chance and then it was just about doing something that was forbidden. The risk and excitment. But they see themselves inn the other.
Carrigan and James are trapped in their realities, both prisoners of their families past and wishing they could be something more than criminals.

They fight and scream. Constantly torn between their hearts and whats right by their family code. How much are they willing to risk to get their own happiness?

The Wedding Pact is a roller coaster of emotions. These characters are so much more than what you see in the first page. Katee Robert managed to make the reader feel as conflicted as the characters by portraing their feelings in such a realistic way.

You can't miss this book and the rest of the series to see what happens in Boston and how this families adquire their power.

Blog Tour: The Natural History of Us

The Natural History of Us - coverTHE NATURAL HISTORY OF US

One class assignment. One second chance at love. The school player is all in. Now he needs to win back the sweet commitment girl who's forever owned his heart.

Justin Carter has a secret. He's not the total player Fairfield Academy believes him to be. Not really. In fact, he used to be a one-woman guy... and his feelings for her never went away. Too bad he broke her heart three years ago and made sure to ruin any chance she'd ever forgive him.

Peyton Williams is a liar. She pretends to be whole, counting down the days until graduation and helping her parents at the family ranch. But the truth is, she's done everything she can to get over Justin, and salvation is just around the corner. With graduation one short month away, she'll soon break free from the painful memories and start her life fresh. Of course, she has to get through working with him on one last assignment first.

For Justin, nothing ever felt as right as being with Peyton, and now that fate's given him a shot at redemption, he's determined to make the most of it. And for Peyton...well, Justin Carter has always been her kryptonite.

I loved the Fine Art of Pretending, Brandon was an amazing book boyfriend and all butI had a soft spot for Justin. This bad boy was so much more in his few pages that I needed more of him. He needed a happy ending that Aly didn't give him.
So I've been patiently asking Rachel for teaser while I waited the finished product... but if you haven't read The Fine Art Of Pretending, you shoul go now and come back and tell me how awesome it was and then you can move on to Justin book, because lets be serious, you know you have to read the series in order.

Now moving on...

Justin is a player. We all know that and we all love it. But he had girlfriend *gasp* and he is determined to get her back, even though that means he has to work through some of his own issues, his fears and weaknesses to become the guy Peyton deserves. And of course, he has to convince her to take him back.

Peyton is a good girl with a broken heart and all she wants is to graduate and scape her own memories, but fate has other plans when she gets paired with Justin for one final proyect.

I really really love the journey these two took me. We see a whole new side to Justine that almost no one sees and we see Peyton at her worst and how she bounces back. I liked how both characters simply belonged together.

The book goes back and forth in time showing us how they first met, fell in love and broke up while showing how they reconnected. And I have a love relationship with this kind of books because the OCD freak in me wants things orderly but there's a little excitment in the chaos of wanting desperately to know what happened while reading how things are developing in the present. And Rachel hasn'st dissapointed me in this aspect. You really get to see their relationship developing slowly and you get to see them grow with time and because of each other and is just wonderful.
Going back, the whole belonging together thing also fits perfectly with the time jumps because it shows that maybe they weren't ready for that kind of love when they were younger and how that time apart, while painful, made them grow as individuals that fit better years later.

As always, Rachel Harris gave me tummy feelings, good and bad. I laughed and cried and loved every single minute of it.
The Natural History of Us is a love story about a boy and a girl who belong together, is about trusting yourself and others and finding happiness.
If you want a sweet romance, a book boyfriend to make you swoon a heroine you can easily relate and a great story, then you need to pick up your copy as soon as is out!

Waiting on: The Glittering Court by Richelle Mead

1:59 PM 0 Comments
We are SO close to the realese date of this one I can barely contain myslef!

Look at this pretty cover!

For a select group of girls, the Glittering Court offers a shot at a life they’ve only ever dreamed of, one of luxury, glamour, and leisure. To high-born Adelaide, whose wealthy family is forcing her into a loveless marriage, the Glittering Court represents something else: the chance to chart her own destiny, and adventure in an unspoiled, prosperous new land across the sea.

After a chance meeting with the dazzling Cedric Thorn, Adelaide poses as a servant to join the crop of impoverished girls he promises to transform into proper ladies. But her familiarity with upper class life comes with a price: she must hide her identity from her new friends, mysterious refugee Mira and fiery former laundress Tamsin, and most importantly, from Cedric himself—even though she’s falling in love with him.

Everything begins to crumble when Cedric discovers Adelaide’s ruse, and she catches the eye of a powerful young governor, who wants her for a wife. She didn’t leave the gilded cage of her old life behind just to become someone else's property. But nothing is as daunting—or as wonderful—as the potent, forbidden attraction simmering between Adelaide and Cedric. One that, if acted on, would make them both outcasts in a wild, dangerous, uncharted world, and possibly lead them to their deaths.

I love the contrast on the cover between the white flowers and the black background.

By now my rule is that I will read anything by Richelle Mead and this one seem to keep the tradition of strong female characters that you'll love.
I've been hearing about this book for so long that I can wait to have it in my hands (or kindle). This one is the first in a new series and the plot sound really interesting.

So, what are you waiting for today?

by Rachel Harris
Published: February 15th, 2016

Love is one dare neither of them can take...

Arabella Stone, Nashville’s darling, is eager to shuck her prim-and-proper rep, and a few wild months spent checking items off her “ summer bucket list” is the way to do it. First up: kiss the man she’s crushed on since she wore a training bra, the bad boy of country himself, Blue bassist Charlie Tucker.

For Charlie, a beautiful woman flirting with him isn’t out of the norm—but a beautiful woman bolting after the hottest kiss of his life sure is. And when he finds out his kiss-and-run Cinderella is none other than Arabella Stone, daughter of his label’s CEO, he knows he’s in trouble. Because not only is she a Stone, she’s also his employee for the next few months at the recording studio he just bought.

Over the course of one thrilling summer, Arabella and Charlie chip away at her list, but once it ends, so does their time together.

Add to your Goodreads

Ahh!! She did it again. This woman can make my heart happy withing a few chapters and this book is great from start to finish.

You're Still The One introduces to one Charlie Tucker, bass player in one of the most important country bands and favorite player in the industry; and one Arabella Stone, Nashville sweetheart and royalty favorite perfect child. But Arabella is ready to step out of her propper image and jump into the wild side even if it is for one short summer and in an ordely manner with a list of priorities.

Rachel Harris did a fantastic job at building the characters personalities and relationship slowly. While reading you get the know Charlie and Arabella, what they want, what they are afraid of and how easily things starting coming together for the two of them.
I loved the slow burn and reading how a crush became a friendship and how that evolved so naturally. Their adventures are sure to bring a smile on your face and their heart to heart may have brought a tear or two.

You're Still The One is the perfect romance book. Charlie is the bad boy with a soft side every girl wants and Ella is such an easy girl you can't help but fall for them. I love her little quirks and how real and tridimentional Ms. Harris made her.

But deep down, one of the things I loved the most about this book is how it wasn't just about the romance but you got some very inspiring lesson along the ride, and I think is a first in Ms. Harris writing. Charlie is starting a foundation to help teens fight depression and while you don't get the back story she treats the subject in a serious matter without making it dark. Ella, on the other hand, is discovering herself, who she is and what she wants in life and that is one journey everyone can relate. Add to that how Charlie and Ella experience love for the first time and it's one amazing story.

By know, I love everything Rachel Harris writes, you can be sure you'll get a sweet romance with great characters that you'll feel are like family, a bit of drama and humor. All balanced expertly in one of the best books you'll read.

Waiting on Debt by Rachel Dunning

10:30 AM 0 Comments
Welcome to our first waiting on Wednesday post!

This week we have a new adult book by Rachel Dunning that just sounds like our kind of read aaannd we won't have to wait too long for this one!
Check out the blurd and excerpt below and tell us what you think :)

Debt by Rachel Dunning
Published: March 30th, 2016

The Debt Collector

I pay my debts, and I expect others to.
I was raised in the slums of London, I knew nothing of privilege. My father was murdered when I was seventeen. Morty figured my father's passing meant I would automatically take on dad's debts. I refused.
And I paid for that refusal.
So did my sister.
So now I fight. All I know how to do is fight. The best cash is in the states, so that's where I am now. A big fish called Vito came along offering me a "favor" when I arrived.
Another debt.
I paid for that one too.
I knew Kyla Hensley would be trouble when I met her. But I wanted her. I could see through the falsehood of her wannabe-slutty clothes and her sexy legs. So I chased her.
Besides, trouble is my middle name.

Kyla Hensley

I was brought up in privilege, but I lacked everything else. My father is a business tycoon who buys and sells and doesn't care who gets rolled over in the process.
I never knew my mother, and all I have of her is a photo with a note scrawled on the back in French saying "I'm sorry." The only Female Figure I had growing up is my dad's wife who is a bleach blond with seven boob jobs. We never bonded.
I drink. I party. I meet guys.
But I wasn't always like that.
I've had a string of lovers in the last few years, the worst and most recent of which was Vince Somerset. My best friend Vera was dating a guy called Rory Cansoom who is the opposite of Vince in so many ways, and yet so the same.
She and I hit the road for the summer, getting away from the two college psychos and just trying to have some fun.
But there's a funny thing about trouble, the more you run from it, the more it finds you.
Which is when I met the Debt Collector.
It was only supposed to be sex. He made that clear. I made that clear.
That's all it was supposed to be.
I never expected to fall in love. I never expected to fall so deeply, madly, uncomfortably in love with a man who is wrong, so wrong for me.
And yet...so unbelievably right.

Standalone Novel.
No Cliffhanger

Excerpt

~Kyla~

I push my head back against the wall, not sure what’s coming, but not fighting it either.
“Who are you?” he repeats.
“I...I don’t know what you mean.”
“I see you at a bar in Texas, then I look for you all over Nashville. And suddenly you’re at my side in a hospital, following me into this warehouse. Who are you?”
“I didn’t follow you into the warehouse. You needed to pick up your truck, and you were stumbling.”
“So?”
“So I wanted to make sure you were OK.”
“And?”
And I want you to take my clothes off and I want us to live happily ever after. “That’s it.”
Logan grins, a deadly look for him with his dimples. “Don’t do that,” I say.
“What?”
“Smile.”
“Why not?”
Because you’re beautiful. “Just don’t.”
