OPAL TRAILER REVEAL!

1:01 AM 0 Comments

Opal (Lux Series #3)
Available in both print and digital version on December 18, 2012

No one is like Daemon Black.

When he set out to prove his feelings for me, he wasn’t fooling around. Doubting him isn’t something I’ll do again, and now that we’ve made it through the rough patches, well... There’s a lot of spontaneous combustion going on.

But even he can’t protect his family from the danger of trying to free those they love.

After everything, I’m no longer the same Katy. I’m different... And I’m not sure what that will mean in the end. When each step we take in discovering the truth puts us in the path of the secret organization responsible for torturing and testing hybrids, the more I realize there is no end to what I’m capable of. The death of someone close still lingers, help comes from the most unlikely source, and friends will become the deadliest of enemies, but we won’t turn back. Even if the outcome will shatter our worlds forever.

Together we’re stronger... and they know it.

YA 50 BOOK GIVEAWAY

11:17 PM 0 Comments
Ok, so when you first walk into a bookstore, where do you go?
YA, duh.
So we love Richelle Mead,.
We do! She’s the Queen of Cliffhanger
And, well, we think she should hire us as babysitters, so we can hack her computer and get her books, because these cliffhangers are killing us
Also, she has the best characters EVER! Think Of Adrian Ivashkov *swoon*, that’s the perfect man, and Dorian (if you’ve read her adult series)
And Rose and Sidney, ..(and Eugenie if you read Storm Born) are strong characters not damsels in distress... plus they’re super witty and fun.
They make you wish you were that badass.
And if that book series is ever made into a movie, they better get awesome actors and actresses or there will be hell to pay.
Speaking of movies, there’s some upcoming movies from books that I can’t wait for: CITY OF BONES, Warm Bodies, and Beautiful Creatures.
Don’t forget Hunger Games 2! We want to see more Jennifer, and WE WANT TO SEE FINNICK PORTRAYED!
(SIDE NOTE: Speaking of Jennifer Lawrence, I just love that she’s dating Nicholas Hoult, and that he’s in Warm Bodies)
(SIDE NOTE #2: I’m Team Gale... I don’t care what you guys think, he’s the best!)
(SIDE NOTE #3: AGREED!)

I’ll show you a bit of how my mind works so you can understand why the big jump here. Warm Bodies is about Zombies... which reminds me of Richelle saying readers will ask for Zombie Rose if she ever kills her... which takes me back to Richelle and how we can’t get enough of her stories and characters...

Richelle can write books that honestly, will make you cry, laugh and want to punch someone, and not just so you can feel as badass as the characters... but because she always, ALWAYS left the books at the most “OMG SHE DIDN’T WRITE THAT” moment...

And speaking of OMG Moments... her story of Rose and Dimitri in the Foretold Anthology... yeah I SO need more after that.

So yeah, that’s our YA rant, speaking of YA, here’s this huge giveaway!

FOREVER MY GIRL COVER REVEAL

7:30 AM 4 Comments

Release: December 27th

Blurb:
I was never supposed to be a rock star. I had my life all planned out for me. Play football in college. Go to the NFL. Marry my high school sweetheart and live happily ever after.

I broke both our hearts that day when I told her I was leaving. I was young. I made the right decision for me, but the wrong decision for us. I’ve poured my soul into my music, but I’ve never forgotten her. Her smell, her smile.

And now I’m going back.

After ten years.

I hope I can explain that after all this time.

I still want her to be my forever girl.

My grandma once told me that I can do anything I want, so I am.

Originally from the Pacific Northwest, I now live in picturesque Vermont, with my husband and two daughters. Also renting space in our home is an overhyper Beagle/Jack Russell and two Parakeets.

During the day you'll find me behind a desk talking about Land Use. At night, I'm writing one of the many stories I plan to release or sitting courtside during either daughter's basketball games.

I'm also an active reviewer on The Readiacs - a site I own with my best friend and uber special beta, Yvette.

Blog Tour: Luminosity + GIVEAWAY

Luminosity Review

Published: November 2012
Publisher: Entangled Teen

My name is Beatrice. When I was born, I was blessed with the Sight. I was immediately removed from my parents and enrolled in the Institution. At the age of twelve, I had my first true vision, earning my raven’s wings. And when I turned seventeen, one of my visions came true. Things haven’t been the same since.

The Institution depends on me to keep the City safe from our enemy, the Dreamcatchers, but I’m finding it harder to do while keeping a secret from everyone, including my best friend Gabe. It is a secret that could put us all in danger. A secret that could kill me and everyone close to me.

But the enemy has been coming to me in my dreams, and I think I’m falling in love with him. He says they’re coming. He says they’re angry. And I think I’ve already helped them win.

Our Thoughts....

Tell me about the plot...

After a war that almost destroy the planet, the Seers are back and they protect the city and it's Citizens. That's how they world now works, the Seers live separeted from the Citizens in the Institution and they must keep the Dreamcatchers away and prevent them from kiling all the Citizens.

Beatrice, Bea, is probably the best of her class, her vision are clear and especific and they become true. But the Institution keeps a lot of secrets, and most Seers aren't allowed to know.
Bea needs to understand what's going on inside the Institution in order to save those she cares about.
But The Keeper, the leader of the Seers, and her Raven are watching, always Watching her every move, and maybe... The Keeper isn't very happy with what she's seeing.
Female Main Character

Bea is a very intriguing character. At first, she's like the rest of them, used t living inside the Institution and watching the City through tinted windows. But suddenly her Visions start becoming true and she starts having Dreams of a blonde boy named Echo. The problem is, Echo is a Dreamcatcher and she likes him. After meeting Echo, Bea starts having doubts about all the things they were taught to believe.

Bea is a strong character. She fights for her friends and t make sur they're safe but with all the secrets she doesn't know who to trust.
What about the hotties of the book?

Echo and Gabe...

Echo is calmed and collected. He's mysterious. He's the blonde Dreamcatcher that wants to save his people from a pest that's killing them.  Echo tries to guide Bea, he wants her help but he also knows a lot of things she doesn't.
Gabe is Bea's best friends. They've known each other since they were little, and have always been there for each other. But now tha Bea has been keeping secrets from him, he's not exactly happy.

What was the best part?

I love reading about the ins and out of the Institution and Dreamcatchers. To see how much control the Institution had over all of the Seers and Citizens.

What you didn’t like about the book?

I think they were some things that were very predictable, not just for this book but for the future... we'll have to wait and see.

Anything else I should know about this?

Yes! This is the first book in the Raven Chronicles. And the ending, yeah it makes you wanna have the second book right now.

I'm really looking foward to the rest of the story and learning what happens to all this lovelies characters.

Natually, Charlie

12:50 AM 2 Comments

Naturally, Charlie
by S.L. Scott

Make me want to read it...
This story is about the relationship between Charlie and Charlie, or Charlie squared as I call them. Charlotte “Charlie” Barrow is trying to rebuild her life after a crappy break up when she meets Charlie Adams. Charlie Adams is trying to make it on his own after being cut off from his family when he meets Charlie Barrow.

The two find more than comfort in each other when they face some difficult times, but who wants to risk a great friendship when it's the only good thing they have going in their lives?

Female Main Character
Charlie Barrow is a character you'll easily sympathize with. You'll find yourself crying with her through the hard parts, and laughing at her endearing banter with Charlie Adams. You may also want to shake some sense into her, but in the end you'll still like her.

What about the hottie of the book?
Charlie Adams is a hottie who not only writes, but he cooks. He comes from money, but has since avoided that lifestyle. He still faces the fallout from his former antics while he tries growing his relationship with Charlie Barrow. You will want to hug (or maybe more..) him repeatedly throughout the book.

What was the best part?
Charlie Adams, he's such a catch. He's hot, nice, cooks, writes, is hot, and the look you get inside his head makes you love him so much more.

What didn’t you like about the book?
I HATED Charlie Barrow's best friend at first. For the first fifty pages I was tempted to punch her in the face, and by that I mean my ereader.

I also didn't like how often I want to shake Charlie squared, but in the end I still loved them anyways.

Anything else I should know?
You need to read it.

Dear Teen Me BLOG TOUR + giveaway

2:00 AM 2 Comments

Publisher: Zest Books
Published: October 30, 2012
ISBN 978-1-9369762-1-8

Teenagers of the world, Dear Teen Me is for you.

For everyone who wishes they were on the football team. For everyone who would rather be in the glee club than ever run another lap. For the teens who dream of being far, far away from the small town or big city where they go to school.

The prom queens, the theater kids, the band geeks, the bad boys, the good girls, the loners, the stoners, the class presidents, the juvenile delinquents, the jocks and the nerds.
The teens who have good days and bad days and sometimes really really really bad days.

This is for you.

Signed,

A group of authors. some famous – some up-and-comers, who care about you.

When we heard about Dear Teen Me book and idea behind it, we jump to chance of participating in this. As a blog who centers around mistakes we understood the idea of the book. Sharing the experiences good and bad with others can make someone else's life less lonely and that's the whole point of this book.
Here's a chance of getting to know your favourite authors in a way you haven't before.

We're super exited to have Miranda Kenneally, one of the founders of the BLOG of the same name and editor of the book.
Miranda Kenneally is the author of the contemporary YA novels Catching Jordan, Stealing Parker (just published), and Things I Can't Forget (Spring 2013). Miranda is also the co-editor, with E. Kristin Anderson, of Dear Teen Me: Authors Write Letters to Their Teen Selves (Zest Books), and is co-creator of the Dear Teen Me website.

We: Hello Miranda, thanks for stopping by today! We know the tour is really busy!

How are you?

Miranda: Great! Thank you for having me.

For the first question, we decided to go with what’s your favorite color?

Blue! (Although, I frequently like to make a joke of this question and say, “My favorite color is clear. Especially in hot guy’s bathing suits.” :P
Ha! Well that might be our fav too...

Where did you get the idea for the blog Dear Teen Me?

My friend Emily and I were online one day talking about how much we loved the band Hanson when we were teenagers, so Emily decided to write a letter to her teen self, telling her about how she’d met a friend online who also loved Hanson.

What made you decide to make a book out of it?

The great people at Zest Books thought it would make a fun book, so we went with it!

Since our blog is all about mistakes (well, in books), what are some mistakes you made as a teenager that you wish you hadn’t?  Or could have done differently?

I wish I had given guys who actually liked me a chance, rather than going after guys who treated me like crap and only wanted to make out. I also wish I had read more books during high school.

The book deals with different topics, some are really emotional... Did you feel more sympathetic towards some topics more than others?

The letter that made me cry was Heather Davis’, talking about how she had to figure things out for herself and raise herself after her mom left town. I often felt very alone as a teenager and didn’t feel like I deserved friendship or love. I wish I could’ve read that letter when I was a teenager, because it took years for me to understand that I’m worth something.

Is there anything you'd like readers to keep from Dear Teen Me?

Even if you feel alone, I guarantee there’s someone out there who understands what you’re going through. Stay open, keeping making friends, keep learning.

How did you go about getting authors to write letters for Dear Teen Me?  Did some ask to be a part of it, or did you have to beg people at first?

A lot of people really wanted to be a part of it! We only had 70 slots, and we had over 100 people interested, so we made selections based on background, race, and life experience.

Was there something that made you decide you wanted to be a writer or was it something you always knew you wanted?

I’ve known I wanted to be a writer since I was eight years old. But I didn’t write anything good, per se, until I was at least 26. :P It took me a long time to become confident enough in myself and who I am to write true feelings.

As readers we know how inspiring the main character can be, when you write books, do you feel a lot of pressure to make a character people will want to be like?

YES. In my most recent book, my main character, Parker, is judged by her peers because her mom came out as a lesbian. Parker decides to act really girly so people won’t think she’s a lesbian, and she makes some bad decisions. I’ve found that some readers of Parker’s story judge her for her actions without really thinking about why Parker is behaving the way she is. No one really wants to be like Parker, but I want readers to know that there are people out there just like Parker who are hurting because they’ve been judged by others.

Thanks again for answering our questions! Hope you have a wonderful day!
