Knowing You (Cursed #2) by Rebecca Donovan
Release Date: June 27, 2018
Genre: Young Adult
Under suspicion for a crime she watched him commit, Lana will pay for her silence. Her new lawyer strikes a deal, sending her to a boarding school in Vermont. It’s supposed to be a second chance. An escape from a dead-end life in Sherling. Except Lana doesn’t want to leave those who depend on her behind.
Lana is convinced she has nothing in common with the sons and daughters of celebrities and politicians who attend Blackwood School. But she soon finds out, that they're all delinquents... just like her. Theirs is a world of contrived headlines and publicity facades, and Lana's unabated honesty is a keen contrast to their lie-filled lives. She finds herself with new friends, just by telling the truth.
But not everyone is welcoming. Someone is out to destroy Lana, and she has no idea why. The longer she stays at Blackwood, the more dangerous it becomes for her and everyone she cares about. And it will only get worse when Lana discovers the truth.

Knowing You is book 2 in the cursed series, and is as misterious, intriguing and captivating as the first.
I devoured the two books, and they need to be read in order because the story continues right where the first one ends.
Lana is sent to a private school, to pay for the silence. Instead of juvie, she ends up at a school where the privilege high their wilder children.
I LOVED how things developed in this book. The questions keep adding but we get to see more of Lana, to learn more about herself and she's not just strong, she's so caring for her loved ones.
The lawer, Grant, the notes. They add a lot of diention to the story. Reading how Lana interacts with Grant is great. Everything keeps you focus on the now and things happen at a fast pace but the author manages to keep you going and into the story, without getting lost (maybe more confused than when you started it, but that's the beauty of the story)
Rebecca Donnovan writes inspiring characters, strong teenagers, mature and a bit trouble that makes them relatable and makes the readers want to follo to see what happens next.
Excerpt
“If I tell you, they
won’t come true.” I stuff a mound of cake into my mouth.
Lily releases a small
tinkling laugh. “Do you believe that?”
“Do you believe they’ll
come true at all, no matter if I say them out loud or not?”
“I think we always
receive what we deserve, and belief has very little to do with it. It has more
to do with our character, and how that balances out on the scales of good and
evil. Can’t have one without the other, right?”
I look at her curiously.
“But isn’t good always supposed to win in the end?” I can barely function,
forget about contemplate karmic balance. And we’re going down a strange and
windy path right now. Because I know good doesn’t always win.
Meet Rebecca
Optimism seeps from every pore of my body. I truly believe that what's supposed to happen... will! In that regard, I don't know how to give up; it's not part of my biological make up.
I'm a passionate (and some would say, overly enthusiastic) person. I learn by doing (and have been burned more times that I'd like to admit), but I will always throw my entire self into whatever I do - fail or succeed.
I think this is evident when I write, leaving nothing behind and spilling it all out on the pages. I give it all to my readers - love it or hate it.
The path I'm on is very often my own, veering off the beaten path at the sight of something more interesting or captivating, getting caught in the vines and thorns in order to experience the beauty and intrigue others often pass by. And I always meet the most interesting people along the way...

Make Me Crave ExcerptCopyright © 2018 Katee Robert
Tomorrow would be soon
enough for them to go exploring and try out the stand-up paddleboards Allie had
eyed when she’d checked out the beach.
Her face heated at the
fact she’d been caught topless sunbathing. Whoever that guy was, he’d been far
off enough that she couldn’t clearly see his face. Those shoulders, though…
Allie shivered. Even at a distance, she’d seen the cut of his muscles and how
purposefully he’d maneuvered the kayak through the turquoise waters. The island
must have already gone to her head, because she’d spent a truly insane moment
hoping he’d come to shore so she could get a better look at him.
Maybe more than a
better look.
Allie laughed at her
fanciful thoughts. Vacation hookups were all well and good, but if that was
what she’d wanted, she’d chosen the wrong place to go. Isolation and relaxation
were the name of the game on West Island, which was exactly what she’d craved
when she let Becka talk her into booking the trip. It was the exact opposite of
New York and her life there.
But now she found
herself wondering if maybe something slightly more chaotic
would have been a better choice. The sun and sea had soaked into her blood and
the heady feeling had her convinced anything was possible. It was only a week.
The perfect length of time for a fling…
If she wasn’t on a
private island in the middle of the ocean without a single man in sight.
She bypassed the little
golf cart that was one of the main forms of transportation here. It felt good
to walk after being cooped up on the plane and then lying prone while she
sunned herself. She usually taught at least one class a day at Transcend—more
if she needed to cover someone else’s schedule—so being inactive wasn’t natural
for her. It was only a mile or two to the restaurant and the day had started to
cool as the sun reached for the horizon. It’d be downright pleasant tonight.
She’d make sure to wake
early and attend one of the yoga classes offered, and the rest of the day would
be filled with activities that would keep restlessness from setting in. There
was even scuba diving available, though Allie wasn’t sure she was feeling that
adventurous. Snorkeling? Sure. Going deeper with only a tank and a few tubes
between her and drowning? That would take a whole lot more convincing.
The path was cleared
and well maintained to allow the carts to drive without problems, so she let
her mind wander as she fell into a natural stride that ate up the distance
without tiring her out. Every once in a while, the path would branch off in
different directions, some heading toward other villas, some heading deeper
inland. There was a small selection of hiking trails that offered tours of the
history of the island.
She made it to the
restaurant easily, and found it practically deserted. Allie paused in the
doorway, wondering if she’d misunderstood the woman who’d checked them in.
Maybe it was closed?
“Looks like it’s just
you and me.”
She jumped and spun
around. The man stood a respectable distance away, but his sheer size ate up
the space and made her feel closed in. She froze. I’d recognize those shoulders
anywhere. Confirming her suspicion, his gaze slid over her
body as if he was reminding himself of what she looked like with nothing but
what she’d worn on the beach. She tried to swallow past her suddenly dry
throat. “You.”
“Me.” He finally looked
her in the face, and she rocked back on her heels. The man was an Adonis. There
was no other way to describe his blond perfection, from his hazel eyes to the
square jaw to the cleft in his chin to the body that just wouldn’t quit. He
might be wearing a shirt now, but the button-down did nothing to hide his
muscle definition.
He held out a wide hand
with equally perfect square fingers. “Let me buy you a drink?”
“We’re at an
all-inclusive resort.”
His lips twitched, eyes
twinkling. “Have a drink with me.”
Oh, he was good. Charm
practically colored the air between them, and she had the inexplicable impulse
to close the distance and stroke a finger along his jawline. To flick that
cleft chin with her tongue.
Allie gave herself a
shake. “Since we’re the only ones here, it’d be silly to sit apart.”
The look he gave her
said he saw right through the excuse, and why not when it was pathetically
flimsy? The truth was that this man was magnetic and she suspected she’d be
drawn to him even in a room full of people. He waved a hand at the empty place.
“Lady’s choice.”
“How magnanimous of
you.”
“I try.”
She laughed and headed
for the table in the middle of the small patio. There were half a dozen tables,
and she picked a spot that put her back to the building and presented the best
view of the ocean through a carefully curated gap in the foliage.
He eyed the view and
then the chair on the other side of the table, and then he picked it up and set
it adjacent to hers so they were sitting on a diagonal, rather than directly across from each other. “Nice
view.”
She turned to agree—and
found him staring at her.
Allie wasn’t falsely
modest. Life was too short to play games with body shaming and pretending she
didn’t have access to a mirror. She was pretty—beautiful when she put some
effort into it—but she’d given up being skinny or petite after the agony of
high school, and she wasn’t athletically built like some of the women at her
gym. Sure, she had muscle beneath her softness, and she could keep up with the
best of them in her spin classes, but she loved food just as much as she loved
to sweat, and her curves reflected that. Some guys had a problem with that,
though she didn’t keep them around as soon as comments like “Should you really
be eating that?” started.
This guy looked at her
like he wanted to put her on the table and feast on her for
dinner.
The desire stoked the
flame inside her that had kindled the second she saw him. She leaned forward,
checking his left hand. No ring. No tan lines, either. “What brings you to West
Island?”
“It’s paradise, isn’t
it? Who wouldn’t want to come here to get away from it all?”
That wasn’t quite an
answer, but she was distracted by the intoxicating way his mouth moved when he
spoke. Get
ahold of yourself, Allie. You’re in danger
of panting for him. She took a quick drink of water that
did nothing to quell the heat rising with each minute she sat next to him.
Luckily, a waiter
appeared to save her from saying something truly embarrassing. He outlined the
menu for the night and took their drink orders, then disappeared as quickly as
he’d come.
They were in the middle
of one of the most beautiful places Allie had ever seen, and she couldn’t
manage to tear her gaze away from this stranger. She licked her lips, every
muscle in her body tensing when he followed the movement. She opened her mouth,
but before she could speak, he took her hand, running his thumb over her
knuckles.
The touch was innocent
enough, but she felt that light movement in places that were most definitely not
innocent. She didn’t have to look down to know her nipples now pressed against
the thin fabric of her sundress.
His smile was slow and
sinful and promised things she never would have had the gall to ask for. “This
is going to sound unforgivably forward, but what do you say we get out of here
and go back to my villa?”
It was crazy. More than
crazy. She didn’t even know his name, and she sure as hell didn’t know anything
more pertinent about him.
But there on the softly
lit patio with the tropical scent of some flower she didn’t recognize and the
soft shushing sound of the tide coming in, she didn’t feel like Allie, gym
owner and mother hen, the responsible one who could never afford to do anything
out of line or make a misstep because too many lives depended on her.
Here, she was just
Allie, a woman. A woman who desperately wanted the man staring at her mouth as
if he was doing everything in his power to keep from kissing her right then and
there. She licked her lips again, secretly delighting in the way a muscle in his
jaw jumped. “Yes.”
“Yes?”
“Yes, let’s get out of
here.”

EXCERPT
He did this sometimes. Just sat across from me and stared. He usually wouldn’t even say anything. I didn’t think he expected me to say anything, either. He just looked. Sometimes it lasted a few minutes, just long enough to send that chill skittering up and down my spine. Other times it would go on for hours. He’d blink and breathe and fidget, but his eyes…those remained locked on me, his unhealthy mix of sadness and lust and greed and anger crushing me to the point of breathlessness.
We were at it again, and I was just about out of patience. It was one thing to have been ripped away from my home, from my life, by that madwoman, Cora Anderson. It was another to have her poke and prod and use me as a science experiment. She’d altered my mind. Made me forget most of my life before the day I woke up a prisoner on the floor of her cold, dank cell. Those things were all bad, but having been “rescued” by this bastard and forced to stay by his side at all times? That was an entirely new level of torture.
“You’re thinking about him again, aren’t you?” His tone was acidic and his jaw tight. He had a temper, this guy. I’d seen it multiple times. He’d never done anything more than scream at me, but it was only a matter of time with people like this. I wasn’t sure how I knew that, but I felt it in my bones. Maybe I’d known someone like him at home. Maybe it was just intuition.
“Yes,” was all I replied. I found that simple, one-word responses went over the best. Or, more accurately, the worst. When I said too little, he grew agitated. He wanted me to talk to him, yet the things that came out of my mouth weren’t ever what he wanted to hear. I didn’t act like he’d hoped I would, didn’t say the things he longed to hear. Some days he was determined to change me. Others, he was rabid, blaming me for not behaving like myself and demanding that I wake up.
Forget that I had no idea who I was.
“While it’s not okay, I understand.” He offered me a smile—a small, tentative twitch of his lips and gentle shrug of his shoulders. He was making an effort to be kinder today, going out of his way to speak softer and move slower.
That made me even angrier.
“You understand? Then my life is complete. All I’ve ever wanted was the understanding of a serial killer.” Even if I hadn’t been thinking about…someone else, I would have lied. The fact that I wasn’t focused on him, and him alone, drove Dylan—my savior, my captor—crazy. But the truth was, I was thinking of him. That other him. How could I not? Even if I didn’t find myself missing him every moment of every day in an almost physical way, I wouldn’t be able to put him out of my mind because he was technically sitting here across from me.

EXCLUSIVE EXCERPT
I peeled back the covers and sheet and helped
her into bed. Her red hair splayed out on the pillow, a stark contrast to the
white. Man, she was pretty. Considering she’d told the hotel clerk that she was
taking advantage of me, she was also slightly delusional.
“Evan?”
It stung every time she used my brother’s
name. But again, no one to blame but myself. “Yeah?”
“Come cuddle with me. My eyes don’t need to
be open for that, and it’ll help me fall asleep. Right now I’m in that weird
in-between phase.” Her words came out slurred and sluggish. “Like I can’t fully
relax even as the medication is trying to pull me under, so I’m just in limbo.
I hate limbo.”
The oxygen drained from my lungs. I didn’t
know if I could be as strong as I needed to be if I crawled into that bed.
Her arm swung out, sweeping the air until she
made contact with my wrist. I could’ve easily resisted the tug, but I didn’t
want to.
“Just a sec,” I said.
“Did you say sex?”
I bit back a groan—she wasn’t going to make
this easy. I kicked off my shoes, considered taking off my jeans and then
decided that’d only ensure my failure to behave, and climbed in next to her.
Rustling came from her side, and the next
thing I knew, she’d thrown her bra and shorts out of the bed, leaving her in
only her shirt and… I resisted looking, even though it was all I could think
about.
I wasn’t Superman; I was a fucking saint.
My sainthood was tested when she snuggled up
to me, resting her head on my shoulder and hooking her leg over both of mine.
Having her next to me was the sweetest kind of torture. Her warm breath hit my
neck a mere moment before her soft lips.
She was definitely initiating, and I was
definitely turned on. But I was also definitely shutting it down. Since I
didn’t want to hurt her feelings, especially after that ridiculous comment
about being disappointed, I gently shifted, pulling her back against my front.
I couldn’t do much about the hard-on. Her ass was right there. A choked noise
escaped my mouth as she wiggled against me.
Taking shallow, tempered sips of air, I
dragged my fingertips over her arm and back up. Over her shoulder and down her
spine.
Her breathing slowed; mine quickened.
Her body relaxed; mine tensed.
She let go and let sleep take her; I clung on
to consciousness, soaking in the way she felt in my arms.
Hadn’t I already accepted the fact that I was
going to hell for this? Paving my way with every stolen look, kiss, and touch?
I settled my hand on her hip and kissed the
back of her head.
If so, let me burn.

Theirs for the Night (The Thalanian Dynasty, #1) by Katee Robert
Expected publication: July 31st 2018
Meg Sanders has spent her life playing by the rules—until tonight. It’s her birthday and she’s determined to be a little wild and a whole lot carefree, at least until she has to get back to reality tomorrow. But the last thing she expects is to be seduced on the dance floor by two gorgeous men.
Theo and Galen are each incredibly sexy on their own, and potentially devastating as a pair—and they want her. Meg isn’t down for anything resembling complicated when her life is such a mess, but the two of them win her over with the promise of a night out of her deepest, darkest fantasy—and that they walk the next morning with no strings attached.
After all, anything goes when it’s only for one night…
This novella was free for newsleers subscribers, bt i will be available o prchase soon! Is a precuel fo a fll lengh book that will release later this year!
This MMF story follows Theo, Galen and Meg as they meet for the first time.
While Meg is out celebrating her birthday she mets Theo and Galen, and when they propose one night of fun and then no strings, she agrees.
The chemestry in this short novella is off the charts! And I loved the dynamic between Theo and Galen. After knowing each other for so long they share more than a friendship and the way they just know what the other is thinking made them even better.
Meg is a great character, she’s trying to be responsable and live a little and while at some points she feels like she’s well over her head, she never backs down from a challenge and she can give these two guys who are used to getting their way a run for their money.
While Theo is used to be the one in charge, there’s a little part near the end, where Galen joins Meg and they make him give in that totally stole my heart. I don’t think that’s something he’s used to and those little moments will be his end hehe
And a bit of fun in the middle is good, because this is so hot that is Ms. Robert doesn’t give us a bit of breathing room, we’ll be dead!
I can’t wait to read the full book and see what happens to them!

In My Skin is a powerful, action-packed book that will keep you at the edge of your sit.
Luke is a super soldier, with brain implants and lots of habilities, but to protect those he loves, he had to burned and walled all of his memories and now he can’t get them back.
Dani is a nurse. She lives a quiet life, sometimes lonely but content until his childhood friend comes crashing through her door, dying and puts her in danger.
When Luke sees Dani, he’s determined to protect her, even when that can cost him his life.
In My Skin is the third book in the series and they have to be read in order to fully understand the story. This picks up a bit after the last book.
Luke is such a great character! He’s a big protective guy, sometimes a bit overwhelming but he always tries to keep Dani safe and happy. Even when is not easy.
Dani surprised me. She’s strong and resilient. All the things she discovers during this book, and everything she goes through and she stills keep going.
The chemestry between the two main characters is off the charts! They can burn up the pages in an instant and I think the fast phisical connection with the slower emotional one was a great combo.
The action never stops. Luke and Dani are running from page one and the author manages to keep the reader ingaged and interested in everything while wondering if they will make it.
In My Skin is a great addition to the series, we get more glimpses at the group and how they work together, we lear more of their past and see what they are fighting against. I really enjoyed the look we got at the slave soldiers and I can’t wait to see what happens next!

The room had one
queen-sized bed. If he was lying next to her on it, no way was she leaving that
guy alone. Not even after violent trauma and the wound still throbbing
painfully in her thigh. Crazy, but so what. She was alive and kicking and in
one piece, thanks to him.
She wanted to feel
something good and true and excellent. Luke fit the bill.
Bye-bye, cartoon
kittens. They could wait for a Netflix and popcorn and sex-with-socks-on night.
She was going with the hot red stretch lace. Just as she was. Unretouched.
And in the mood for some
intense sexual healing.
Dani wriggled into the
outfit. Hoisted her boobs up for maximum lift. Hiked the panties up extra high.
She pushed the door open, stepped out and struck a pose.
For nothing. Luke was in
a digital trance. One hand manipulated a tablet, the other was tapping madly
over the laptop’s keyboard. He’d looped his devices into a chain and his brain
was the connector. No attention to spare for sexy lingerie.
But she wasn’t giving
up. By no means. “How’s it going?”
“So far so good,” he
said. “I’ve pinpointed the location of the second shipment, and the combination
for retrieving it. All the backup equipment needed to activate the slave
soldier and make it function. Coordinates for the pickup of the wetware are
included.”
She tugged at the lacy
shoulder strap, adjusting it. Luke still hadn’t noticed what she was wearing.
“What the hell is wetware?”
“It’s a Manticore term.
It refers to the slave soldier. He could be dormant, possibly suspended in
fluid. There’s a file on him. I89VY262. I haven’t gone through that one yet. C
drive on the laptop, if you’re interested.”
“I am interested,” she
said. “But later.”
“The equipment is in a
self-storage unit at an E-Z-U-Store in Serrati Flats, California,” he said.
“About a hundred and fifty miles north of here.”
“I suppose you want to
get going right away?”
“No, we’ll wait.”
She was startled. “Why?
Aren’t we in a hurry?”
“You went through hell
today. You need a decent night’s sleep. In a real bed.”
Well, bless his heart.
How sweet. The bed part he’d gotten right.
She walked toward him
slowly. Swaying her hips. Still nothing. He was locked and loaded in data
processing mode. His eyes reflected squares of blue from the screen. A stream
of files rolled constantly down it. Like she was peering directly into the data
churn in his brain.
He was about to get
forcibly reminded that he was not a robot.
She stepped between him
and the desk and sat down on his lap.
Luke went rigid. “Holy
fuck, Dani.”
She leaned in so her
tits were right below the level of his nose. Nipples on red alert from being so
close to him. She put her arms around his neck, running her fingers slowly
through his hair. Inhaling his hot male scent. “I like the red outfit the
best,” she said, her voice low and husky. “Do you?”’
About Shannon McKenna
Shannon McKenna is the NYT bestselling author of seventeen action packed, turbocharged romantic thrillers, among which are the stories of the wildly popular McCloud series and the brand new romantic suspense series, The Obsidian Files. She loves tough and heroic alpha males, heroines with the brains and guts to match them, villains who challenge them to their utmost, adventure, scorching sensuality, and most of all, the redemptive power of true love. Since she was small she has loved abandoning herself to the magic of a good book, and her fond childhood fantasy was that writing would be just like that, but with the added benefit of being able to take credit for the story at the end. Alas, the alchemy of writing turned out to be messier than she'd ever dreamed. But what the hell, she loves it anyway, and hopes that readers enjoy the results of her alchemical experiments. She loves to hear from her readers.

“She intended to be the mistress of her own fate. And there was one thing she knew with absolute certainty from observing the ways of the world: one did not get that kind of power by marrying it.”
THE DUKE I TEMPTED by Scarlett Peckham is out this July!
Having overcome financial ruin and redeemed his family name to become the most legendary investor in London, the Duke of Westmead needs to secure his holdings by producing an heir. Which means he must find a wife who won’t discover his secret craving to spend his nights on his knees—or make demands on his long scarred-over heart.
Poppy Cavendish is not that type of woman. An ambitious self-taught botanist designing the garden ballroom in which Westmead plans to woo a bride, Poppy has struggled against convention all her life to secure her hard-won independence. She wants the capital to expand her exotic nursery business—not a husband.
But there is something so compelling about Westmead, with his starchy bearing and impossibly kind eyes—that when an accidental scandal makes marriage to the duke the only means to save her nursery, Poppy worries she wants more than the title he is offering. The arrangement is meant to be just business. A greenhouse for an heir. But Poppy yearns to unravel her husband’s secrets—and to tempt the duke to risk his heart.

Read and exclusive excerpt from THE DUKE I TEMPTED:
The Duke of Westmead cleared his throat. “Given I rebuked you for
your lack of transparency, Miss Cavendish, honor obliges I disclose to you that
I became rather dismayed when I learned you were betrothed. I suppose I
thought, how dare she? How dare she
squander her gifts on so middling a creature as Mr. Raridan? Or, more to the
point, on anyone?”
Poppy didn’t speak. She couldn’t, because her breath was caught. She
had never heard herself described in such terms by anyone. How could she, when
the local gentry who had known her all her life told a different story about
her? One of an eccentric spinster who coarsened herself with commercial
enterprise. An arrogant, unlikeable woman, unhealthily obsessed with plants.
“Thank you,” she said, hoping her voice did not convey how deeply
what he said affected her. It would not do to seem overly moved.
He shrugged, as though his words were unremarkable. As though such
assessments of her worth were lobbed at her all day.
The carriage she had been waiting for at long last appeared through
the stable gates and rolled up to the bottom of the steps.
“Miss Cavendish, in light of my lapse of judgment, I fully
understand if you do not wish to return to Westhaven. But if my sister believes
me guilty of ruining her plans I shall have to live with her mortal
disapproval. I don’t suppose I could prevail on you to reconsider finishing your
work? I assure you that I will not attempt to intercede in so much as the
placement of a vase.”
The contours of his face should not have a say in her decision and
yet she could not help but admire them, as the fading light danced across the
planes that made him sometimes handsome, sometimes fierce.
Or perhaps it was only the way that he looked at her. As if her
respect meant something to him. As if she
did.
“Very well,” she said. “I shall return in the morning. For Lady
Constance’s sake.”
After just a beat too long, he nodded. “I’m glad to hear it. For
Lady Constance’s sake.”
And then he smiled.
Boyishly and quick and warm, like the sun darting out from a bank of
clouds. It was so unexpected and disarming that without thinking, she craned
her face towards his to get a better view of it. Their eyes met, and a chill
ran down her spine. Because for just a moment, she thought he might lean in,
close the distance, and kiss her.
No. Not thought he might. Wanted him to.
She wanted him to kiss
her.
Instead, he folded his mouth back into its usual grim line, bent in
a deep bow and offered her his hand to help her into the carriage.
But it did not escape her notice that he held her fingers just a
beat too long as he said: “Be well, Miss Cavendish.”
Author Bio
Scarlett Peckham fell in love with romance novels as a child, sneaking paperbacks from the stash in her grandmother's closet. By the time she came of age she had exhausted her library's supply and begun to dream of writing one of her own.
Scarlett studied English at Columbia University and built a career in communications, but in her free hours always returned to her earliest obsession: those delicious, big-hearted books you devour in the dark and can never bear to put down. Her steamy historical romances about alpha heroines have been finalists for the Golden Heart® Award four times. Her debut book, THE DUKE I TEMPTED, will be out July 31, 2018.
Scarlett splits her time between London and Los Angeles. When not reading or writing romance she enjoys pretending to know about wine, discussing The Real Housewives, and cooking enormous pots of soup.
Scarlett is represented by Sarah Younger at the Nancy Yost Literary Agency, and spends far too much time on Instagram and Twitter.
