When Nick Ashford lost his friend, Mason, he didn’t realize he was going to lose his family as well, but that’s exactly what happened. Alone and in a foreign country, Nick is working on rebuilding his life one patient at a time, that is, until a striking volunteer makes her presence known.

Can Nick finish his year in Africa without risking his heart being broken again, or is he willing to start a new chapter in his life before his return to Beaumont?

A heartbroken man who is looking to move on. A second chance at love. That's what My Everything is about. Nick had everything we wanted from life, a woman he loves and a kid he raised as his own, but suddenly everything changed and he lost them.

I have to say that you'll need to read Forever My Girl in order to understand and appreciate the story in its fullest form. My Everything and Nick story is so related to what happens in there that is necessary. Nick was in a way, the collateral damage to their happy ending.

He travels to Africa to volunteer as a way to heal himself and do what he loves the most. The story is very touching. Through flashbacks, Heidi show us what Nick felt while he was with Josie... and at points I got the feeling he wasn't completely over her, but the pain and regret he feels for walking out on Noah like that is what is really about. I don't think he can ever forgive himself for that, but through his eyes, you can see why he did it.

Aubrey is a great character. She's strong and just what Nick needs, even though he doesn't want to risk his heart again.
As he lets Aubrey in he realizes that the relationship he had with Josie wasn't really love... not the kind of epic love he really wants.

And once he can pull himself together and love again, he needs to go back to Beaumont and face the consequences of his actions and try to rebuilt what he had with Noah.

My everything is a lovely short novella, a little shy of 100 pages, so you can enjoy it in one reading. For those of us who love Liam, this will make you see Nick with different eyes... he still doesn't get as far as Liam in my book boyfriend list, but he's now into the good boys.
Heidi once again did a wonderful job with the characters and the story. It will leave you wanting more.
