REVIEW: Break the Sky

BREAK THE SKY by NINA LANE
Published: July 29th, 2014
Publisher: Snow Queen Publishing

A sizzling hot, new SPIRAL OF BLISS spin-off novel from New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Nina Lane

“Do you ever let go, storm girl?” he asked. “Ever lose control? Ever surrender?”
“Never,” I whispered. “I never surrender.”
A smile of both promise and warning curved his beautiful mouth.
“You will.”

Atmospheric scientist Kelsey March is under siege. Her tornado research project is on the skids and she’s fighting conflict in her university department. So when irresistible bad boy Archer West suggests a hot, wild fling while he’s in town, Kelsey is unable to resist his sexy offer.

Kelsey and Archer embark on a intense, exhilarating affair. But soon their differences and private battles encroach on their desire, and Kelsey discovers that Archer is a storm she can’t control.

This book blew me away!
I wasn't expecting this to be so intense and strong and raw when I started it and it left me feeling soo good after finishing it. I'm really gonna miss Archer and Kelsy!

Kelsy is a teacher. She's the definition of a straight and narrow woman. She doesn't do wild or impulsive. She's predictable, reliable.
Archer is a force of nature of his own. He's wild and honest. Intense and direct. He's... male as Kelsy puts it.

I remember this quote that says: "Never love a wild thing", I think is perfect  to describe the relationship between Kelsy and Archer. You see, Archer is not the kind of man who can settle... it's just wrong, like a tigger in a cage, you know he belongs in the wild world, running free. Kelsy knows this, Archer knows this. And they are scare that maybe one day, what they feel won't be enough to keep them together.

This book is a piece of art. Told in dual POV, without changing from chapter to chapter all the time (something that sometimes confuses me tbh), it gives you insight to both charaters hopes and fears.
The romance happens fast and yet with them is the perfect pace, I mean it feels right that they crashed suddenly.
Tehir relationship is really volatile. They are good and then they aren't. Their personalities so alike in some ways. If Archer is the tigger that can't be tame, Kelsy is the cat. She might love the comfort of a rutine and a place to call home, but never forget that felines are never tamed. She longs for everything Archer brings.

I loved how Break the Sky is not just about the love story. Each character has a personal journey in the story as well. And while they support each other in it, they overcome them on their own. The secondary characters are great help in this path.

Reaing Break the Sky is a whole experience. It kept me on edge. It broke my heart. I laughed, I cried, I hoped it would never end while needing to know how it would end. And it didn't dissapoint me.

My favourite quote from this and what I feel helps a lot in understanding the book
"He pushed. I yielded. He gave. I took. He captured. I surrendered." -Break the Sky by Nina Lane
