Review + Giveaway: Conterfeit Boyfriend

Today Cindi Madsen is joining us to share the blog tour for COUNTERFEIT BOYFRIEND, her new contemporary romance! Check it out and grab your copy today!

COUNTERFEIT BOYFRIEND by Cindi Madsen

Genre: Contemporary Romance

My twin brother’s talked me into a lot of crazy things, but taking his place on a road trip with his girlfriend so he can party with his friends is a whole new level of insanity. What’s even more insane is I somehow find myself agreeing to it—thanks, alcohol, guilt, and bribery. I’m determined to undo the arrangement, but then I meet Gwen, this sexy redheaded hurricane of energy and brains.

And then she kisses me. Just like that, I’m driving her up the coast, on our way to a wedding with a mess of complications. With each hour and each stop, I’m falling harder and harder for a woman who doesn’t know my actual name.

I’m trying to do the right thing. Or the lesser of the wrong things. All my life I’ve had to clean up my brother’s messes, but for the first time ever, I’ve landed the upper hand in one of our switcheroo schemes. Now I’ve just got to come clean and convince Gwen that I’m the brother she should be with.

If you are looking for a great rom-com with a bit of drama, you HAVE to read this one!

I don't know what Ethan was thinking when he agreed to pass as his twin brother and go with his girlfriend to a wedding, and I don't know how Gwen DIDN'T see it was her boyfriend but the end result was great.

I loved Gwen from the beggining, she's adorable, nerdy and so caring! Plus her fast talking will have you smiling all the book. Ethan was determined to tell her the truth until he sees her, but decides he wants to spend more time with her and help her with this trip.

The insta love kinda works, because for Gwen, she's been dating this guy (although with a total different attitude) for months so letting him in and trusting comes easy. Ethan finds in Gwen everytrhing he'd like on a woman and, while his brother kinda sucks, they both wanted Gwen to have someone for the weekend so...)

Cindi Madsen creates a perfect way for our characters to get to know each other, the road trip gives them intimacy and a safe place and the wedding shows us more about Gwen and her past. Both characters are really likeable, even when Ethan is lying the whole time. Cindi makes you root for him, lying or not and also creates a nice pace with a ticking clock until everything comes out. Poor Ethan was nervous about it, and the reader can't help but being right along with hi, wanting the roadtrip to last forever and wincing everytime the words Evan come out of Gwen mouth.

Counterfeit Boyfrien is a great read, full of cheese moments and fun adventures. I really loved getting to know these characters and their friends, they add a really nice touch to the story and help it move forward.

About Cindi

Cindi Madsen is a USA Today bestselling author of contemporary romance and young adult novels. She sits at her computer every chance she gets, plotting, revising, and falling in love with her characters. Sometimes it makes her a crazy person. Without it, she’d be even crazier. She has way too many shoes, but can always find a reason to buy a pretty new pair, especially if they’re sparkly, colorful, or super tall. She loves music and dancing and wishes summer lasted all year long. She lives in Colorado (where summer is most definitely NOT all year long) with her husband, three children, and one overly-dramatic tomcat.
