One class assignment. One second chance at love. The school player is all
in. Now he needs to win back the sweet commitment girl who's forever owned his
heart.
Justin Carter has a secret. He's not the total player Fairfield
Academy believes him to be. Not really. In fact, he used to be a one-woman guy... and his feelings for her
never went away. Too bad he broke her heart three years ago and made sure to ruin any chance she'd
ever forgive him.
Peyton Williams is a liar. She pretends to be whole, counting
down the days until graduation and helping her parents at the family ranch. But the truth is, she's done
everything she can to get over Justin, and salvation is just around the corner. With graduation one short
month away, she'll soon break free from the painful memories and start her life fresh. Of course, she has
to get through working with him on one last assignment first.
For Justin, nothing ever felt as right as being with Peyton, and now that
fate's given him a shot at redemption, he's determined to make the most of it. And for Peyton...well,
Justin Carter has always been her kryptonite.

I loved the Fine Art of Pretending, Brandon was an amazing book boyfriend and all butI had a soft spot for Justin. This bad boy was so much more in his few pages that I needed more of him. He needed a happy ending that Aly didn't give him.
So I've been patiently asking Rachel for teaser while I waited the finished product... but if you haven't read The Fine Art Of Pretending, you shoul go now and come back and tell me how awesome it was and then you can move on to Justin book, because lets be serious, you know you have to read the series in order.
Now moving on...
Justin is a player. We all know that and we all love it. But he had girlfriend *gasp* and he is determined to get her back, even though that means he has to work through some of his own issues, his fears and weaknesses to become the guy Peyton deserves. And of course, he has to convince her to take him back.
Peyton is a good girl with a broken heart and all she wants is to graduate and scape her own memories, but fate has other plans when she gets paired with Justin for one final proyect.
I really really love the journey these two took me. We see a whole new side to Justine that almost no one sees and we see Peyton at her worst and how she bounces back. I liked how both characters simply belonged together.
The book goes back and forth in time showing us how they first met, fell in love and broke up while showing how they reconnected. And I have a love relationship with this kind of books because the OCD freak in me wants things orderly but there's a little excitment in the chaos of wanting desperately to know what happened while reading how things are developing in the present. And Rachel hasn'st dissapointed me in this aspect. You really get to see their relationship developing slowly and you get to see them grow with time and because of each other and is just wonderful.
Going back, the whole belonging together thing also fits perfectly with the time jumps because it shows that maybe they weren't ready for that kind of love when they were younger and how that time apart, while painful, made them grow as individuals that fit better years later.
As always, Rachel Harris gave me tummy feelings, good and bad. I laughed and cried and loved every single minute of it.
