Bo Nantan loves tattooing. It gives him everything he’s dreamed of having: freedom, friends, and the chance to draw. That should be enough to make him happy, but one woman’s been invading his thoughts since an unplanned kiss after a bet he shouldn't have made. Too bad Alexis Catori is his own personal definition of frenemy.

With Bo's prompt refusal to do her tattoo, a storm of emotion erupts between them. It doesn't take long to admit the attraction they both feel. But when her past returns, Alexis doubts her ability to move on as planned.

Let's start with the cover... super sexy right? And now look at the blurb... yup sounds good, uh? 

Making His Mark is a fast read with very few slow moments. While I enjoyed the fast pace of the book sometimes it felt a bit rushed. I'd have like a bit more of tension between Alexis and Bo. 

The writing is great, the banter between Alexis and the boys, Travis and Matt, was really fun to read. The pointless arguments between her and Bo was something I liked about the book. I say pointless because, the two of them just love to argue, and it was entertaining.
Now, the only thing about the writing I didn't like was the transition between one POV and the other, but then this is probably more formatting and anything else... it just jumps from one to the other without warning.

The plot doesn't have many twists, what you get from the blurb is basically it as the book focus on Alexis trying to get a tattoo and Bo refusing her but overall is a great light read, especially for a weekend ;)

I can't tell you how much I love this book. When We Collide is a beautiful story, full of love, pain, hope and abuse. The characters take you with them in their heartbreaking journey, and I felt so connected to them. I must warn you though, get your tissues ready this is worst than a Disney movie in the tears scale. 

It catches you from page one, as if that dedication doesn't pick your interest, the book opens with William's nightmare, a glimpse to his painful past and a pick at a present day he hates. 

Maggie has live her entire life in an abusive home, changing her father's fist for someone much worst. But that's all she's known... all that was ever told was how little she was worth, and that leaves marks that you can't erase. She's broken, scared and in many ways fragile, but at the same she's strong and she's one of the most selfless and loving people and all her life, she's tried to protect others from it.

William comes from a completely different place. He has the happy, loving family. His mother taught him to face his problems, his father that you protect the ones you love. And he tries, he tries so hard you just want everything to be perfect again. Reading from his POV as William watches the girl he loves suffer so much and seeing she doesn't want to be save broke my heart. 
But reading Maggie's while she dealt with the abuse was heart wrenching. Is easy to judge from the outside, and many do, but reading it from a 1st POV like that really puts things into perspective. 

The book is about decisions and mistakes. Both, William and Maggie, make the wrong choices to protect themselves, the other and in the name of best intentions. And they had to live with those mistakes for six years, facing endless what if, dreams of a better life and the ugly consequences of what they did, but when Will returns home for good all the reasons rush back and this time they can't escape so easy.

 The end of the book put me on edge. Collisions aren't a pretty thing and this one wasn't an exception, but all the tension and tears were so worth it. When We Collide is an excellent book that delivers emotions (good and bad) in each and every page. And the Epilogue... perfect. 

 I'm really looking forward to read more about A.L. Jackson :)

If her plan fails, she knows they won’t hesitate to eliminate her and her friends.


When several werehyenas suddenly disappear and Mebis, the Keeper assigned to Miami, goes unexpectedly missing, Kess fears the worst. But even she’s unprepared for this latest threat: a hunter hiding in plain sight whose only goal is killing werecreatures. Can Kess and her friends survive this most dangerous game?


I think this book is my fav in the series. 

Things are looking good for the gang. The werehyenas are put of the question and now Kess, Finn and Rafe can concentrate in making their idea of the Council work. And avoid death by the hands of the keepers. But then a Hunter comes to town, and he wants to finish his collection before the time is out. 

This book had a few surprises I didn't see coming. Hunter Moon is full of secret plans, unexpected events   and lots of prank courtesy of Finn and Rafe.

What I really loved about this book was the chance to see how all the characters grow and develop into their roles.

Kess is now in full Clean Leader mode, she understands her duty to her people in a different light and she wants to keep Miami safe. 
Finn proves his strengths and his maturity like never before. And Rafe kinda learns to stand up for himself. And still this last two can act like 5 y.o. making sure you have a laugh.
We have Laila back, and with Laila in the picture... wild behavior is at order. We see a vulnerable side to her in this, and I really liked it.

The story of the Hunter, Lukas, was really good. The perfect character you can hate for all he's doing, and at the same time, you do have a little sympathy for him. 

A character that surprised me was Zamiel. At first, I wasn't so sure about him and what that could mean for the whole story (He appears in the prologue) but as the story unfolded, I got to like him. (as much as you can like him).

I'll admit, I cried with this one... The last conversation between Mebis and Laila? Yeah... get tissues. But it was so sweet and perfect, it was totally worth the tears! 

 With this book, Jeanette brings more elements to this world full of werecreatures, and it works out perfectly. I couldn't put it down. The tension grows through all the book in a game of hunter and pray. And this time, they're threaten by more than a rival clan while the pressure of The Keppers is always present. 

 Some say this is the last book in the series, I don't know about that... the book ends with a cliffhanger and I really hope there will be more...

Three Years Earlier
 
His name was Lukas Jaegar. He was going to make a deal with the devil.
He lit the saltpeter mixture, the dust igniting in the pentacle pattern he had carved into the wood-planked floor. The flames flickered out almost immediately, leaving a burning line of embers that glowed redly in the darkened room. He stepped inside another pentacle, this one drawn in black paint on the hardwood floor. He’d memorized the incantation months ago, but it had taken him some time to get all of the ingredients he would need for the summoning.
He wanted to make sure he got everything right. Being eaten by a demon wasn’t the way he wanted to spend his eighteenth birthday.
He breathed deeply to steady himself. He was in his family’s cabin in the woods. They hadn’t used it in years—not since the nightmarish hunting trip with his father and brother. There was no one else around for miles, which suited Lukas just fine since he couldn’t afford any interruptions. During the weeks of preparation leading up to this moment he hadn’t been worried—there was too much else to occupy his mind. But now that he was here, alone, with the moment of acting upon him, his whole body shook with nerves.
It was too late to turn back, even if he had wanted to. There was nothing else for him now.
Lukas spoke, his voice low and rough. Candle flames flickered on the edges of his vision. His words came faster, as if they were being pulled from him now, as if something else was controlling the spell he cast. He forced himself to slow, to say the words properly and keep his focus on the center of the empty pentacle.
He finished the incantation with the final command. “Zamiel, I summon you! Zamiel, I call you! Zamiel, come forth!”
Nothing happened.
Lukas wasn’t stupid and he had the patience that all hunters had. He merely stood in his own pentacle, staring at the one opposite him. He had waited for hours for a deer to show itself; he could wait a few minutes to see if a demon would appear.
At first there was nothing. Then a sign: a telltale haze around the edges of the candles behind the pentacle. It was like the heat shimmer that he sometimes saw on hot summer days. He waited a few more moments to see if whatever was there would solidify further. Lukas thought it might be playing a game with him; he’d read that demons were cagey and loved to catch humans out. He had no intention of stepping out of his protective pentacle until he knew the thing was banished or had agreed to his terms.
“Zamiel! Show yourself!”
The grin appeared first. It was wide and sharp, and contained a great number of very pointed teeth. The grin was followed by the rest of Zamiel, who appeared in the form of a tall, thin, dark-haired man. His age was indeterminate; he could have been twenty or sixty. His skin was smooth and pale, almost lacking of color, making him look rather dead. He was dressed in a form-fitting black suit.
“Hello,” the demon said, drawing it out in a leer.
“Zamiel?” Lukas frowned at the entity.
“You did call me.” The demon prowled the edges of the pentacle, testing its boundaries, then stood with its arms by its sides in the center of it.
Lukas swallowed hard, a little rattled. He hadn’t actually thought that he’d be successful, no matter how badly he wanted to be. But here was Zamiel, trapped in a pentacle, awaiting his command. Still, in all of the times he’d played the scenario out in his head, he always asked for the same thing.
“I want to make a deal.”
Zamiel’s left eyebrow lifted. That was the only expression he made.
Lukas stopped, waiting for some other reaction. He hadn’t expected the demon to leap up and clap its hands in joy while singing a jaunty tune, but he had expected a bit more of a response. “Didn’t you hear me?” he asked finally, losing his patience. “I said, I want to make a deal!”
“Oh, I heard you,” the demon said, pausing to examine its perfectly tipped oval fingernails, fingernails that tapered into sharp points at the end. “I’m just waiting for the rest of it.”
Lukas narrowed his eyes. He’d already planned what he was going to say, what to ask for. If he was honest with himself, he’d known for years. He came from a long line of hunters—the men in his family had been great hunters for centuries. And Lukas wanted to be the greatest of them all. Perhaps then his father would look at him again, and actually see him.
His head bobbed once in a slight nod, an unconscious gesture. “I want to be the greatest hunter ever. I want to hunt and kill things no other hunter has ever dared.”

I don’t think my poor tummy ever felt so many things before. Also, I don’t think I ever got so many weird look because of reading in public. Getting teary eyed and then smiling like a fool in love in the beach is bound to do that, though.

Falling For Her Fiance is a book full of romance, comedy and lots of emotion in each page.

Dani and Wes have been best friends since freshman year in college. They push each other to do impulsive things and have amazing adventures together. And while life made Dani move a few states over, they still talk to each other for hours on the phone.
Problem is, Wes family is convinced he is so not over his ex fiance and bridesmaid for his sister wedding. And Dani’s after a promotion she’s sure she won’t get because she’s single and her boss is all about family... the two kinda crazy friends figure out that pretending to be engaged at each other will be the perfect solution for their problems... nothing can go wrong and people has believed there was more to them than friendship anyway... see? perfect plan...
Right.

Dani is a lovely character. She worries about her family and tries to help them as much as she can, but for that she really needs the promotion. And after her last boyfriend dumped her, she is not really sure she can go back to the game.

Wes is impulsive, a dreamer in its purest form. He wants to be free and being a helicopter pilot is all he needs in life. But for most people, he needs to grow up, and learn some responsibilities.

The relationship between these two is such a beautiful thing. They know each other inside and out. They never let someone else get in the middle, something no boyfriend/girlfriend was happy about. They can have an easy banter that had me laughing (Cue more weird looks from people around me) But there’s more to them than that.
They complement each other perfectly: Dani is more like the voice of reason of the two, always overanalyzing everything while Wes just loves to jump into things and figure things out on the way.

The book’s writing is beautiful. Cindi Madsen really makes you feel the characters and their emotions while they struggle to deal with their feelings and keep intact their friendship.
The secondary characters were so well developed and added the perfect background for the story. Each one of them adding a bit more, Wes’ family is so full of love and always stepping into each others business that they make sure you have a laugh.
In all, the book is a perfect romance read.

I couldn’t put it down, read it in a day and still want more. This is definitevely going to be another hit for Cindi Madsen and Entangled. A must read of 2013.

Ok, if the cover doesn't pull you right away surely the blurb does. I mean look at that, the cover screams "I'm a good book!" and "I'm mysterious". It's both. And the blurb... yeah it conviced me in a nano second. 

I loved this book. I read it in a day, and it was so worth it. A few times I found myself checking to be sure it wasn't a paranormal because I just had no idea what was going to happen next. 

All The Broken Pieces has a little bit of everything. A bit of mystery, an easy to relate main character, an evil ex-girlfriend, a hot guy, and swoon worthy romance. Plus, the writing is exquisite, it traps you from page one. 

 White ceiling, a fuzzy face hovering over hers.
Gloved fingers against her skin. 
A steady chirping noise mixed in with words she couldn’t quite catch hold of.

Liv wakes up without memory and suddenly, her parents move them to Arizona. While Liv tries to pretend everything is normal, the truth is, she has two different voices in her head... plus herself... talk about having your thoughts all over the place. But that's not all, whenever she mentions their previous life, her parents go all weird on her and Liv doesn't know what to do...

You see, the first couple of times I read about the voices, I thought, wow.. she's really messed up. But then, as the voices become more frecuent and their personalities more define, plus her parents atitude... yeah it turns creepy. And it's awesome.

Liv goes for her first time to public school and there she meets Spencer. Nerdy, loner, Spencer.
He and Liv start off... with some difficulties. He knows she'll get with the popular crowd and there is nowhere he wants to be farther away from. So he makes it harder for her, and in turn she lets him know. But she's drawn to him as much as he is to her. And together, they start living Liv's first everything. 

Let me tell you, as much fun as it was to watch these two at first, their friendship and easy banter was probably one of my favourite things in the book. Cindi Madsen makes their relationship progress in a perfect pace, from strangers to friends, to a little bit more. 
Under Spencer's hard exterior there's a sweet guy and under Liv's shy and awkward persona, there's a girl of her own. 

But just as perfectly, the whys and whats of Liv's past life come slowly. Kepping you inside the book all the time. Making you change your mind about the possible outcomes with each new discovery.

Cindi Madsen has done a great job in this book.

THE COLLECTOR: A DANTE WALKER NOVEL
Second excerpt release—January 10, 2013

Apparently, Charlie Cooper doesn’t have a car. But don’t worry, she tells me, we can walk to school from here.
Thrilling.
It’ll only take a few lifetimes, what with her mad limp and all.
Charlie carries a brown lunch bag in one hand, and every few minutes she digs Skittles out of her pocket and pops them into her mouth. I have no idea how this girl survives high school. She’s a disaster. It’s kind of tragic. Why is she still alive while I’m a walking corpse?
I can’t stop staring at her mouth. It’s the only part of her that’s passable yet it never stops moving.
“Don’t you think?” she asks.
I meet her eyes. “What?”
She nudges me with her shoulder like we’re long lost pals. “Someone’s been daydreaming. Want some sugar?” Her open palm is a stained Skittle mess.
“I’ll pass,” I answer. I’m not sure how this chick stays so tiny. She eats like a hippopotamus. Deep in my pocket, I rub circles over my lucky penny. I’m trying to figure out how to corrupt this girl, and she keeps asking me questions.
Focus, Dante.
I narrow my eyes and do what I’m trained to do. At first, her body is exactly the same, short and skinny, like a weed that needs plucking. But then it changes. The familiar warm yellow light crawls over her skin and flickers.
Ah, soul light. If I could drink it, I would. The color of a human soul is the same for everyone. It’s the seals that make the difference. I count how many she has, then clench my hands into fists. There are twelve seals on her soul. Only twelve. And they’re not even big. Great. I’ve come to collect Mother Teresa.
Still, the fact that she has even twelve seals means Boss Man has probably had Charlie watched for some time, or at least the Peachville area. Looking at her, his reasons are lost to me.
But it doesn’t matter. I’ve got to collect her either way. If I don’t and she dies, she’ll go to Judgment Day, and Boss Man obviously doesn’t want to take chances.
Inspecting her soul closer, I notice some of Charlie’s seals are dark blue, others green or orange or whatnot. Every collector can place seals, and you can tell who sealed a soul by the color. Most of hers are green. That’d be Patrick’s work. Naturally, I was the one to train him.
Her soul is clear of any of my red seals. But that won’t last for long cause Papa’s come to play. “How much further?” I ask.
“Just on the other side of this hill,” she chirps. “Like I was saying, I’m not sure if you’ll be able to enroll this late in the semester, but at least you can see the school and stuff.”
“I wouldn’t worry about it.”
Charlie glances at me, and her eyes crinkle at the corners. “I think you’re nice, Dante.”
“That’s cause I am nice.”
She looks ahead and walks in silence for almost a full minute. It suddenly feels strange to be near her and not hear her speak. The massive trees hang in a canopy over the road, stretching to greet one another. Their leaves are dead.
Toothy Jack O’ Lanterns sit on porches and watch us pass. One looks like it’s mocking me, so I flip it off. Charlie sees me. She throws her head back and laughs long and hard. The sound startles me.
I wonder what it would feel like to laugh like that—with complete abandonment.
