EXCERPT

“Ryder, you’re becoming more well-known for your behaviour off courtthan your actual career. Do you have anything to comment on that?”

I raise my eyebrows at the reporter. Flashes from cameras are going off everywhere, as you’d expect in a post-match pressconference—especially for a game I’d been very lucky to win.

“Not sure what you mean there, Stan,” I say, reading his nametag. It’s been less than two minutes, and I’m already sick of where this isgoing. “I came here to play tennis—that’s it. It’s a damn shame thatreporters like yourself having nothing better to do than focus on whatI do in my private time.”

“But is it private time when you’re out until three a.m. the nightbefore a big match?” he persists.

I shrug, and wipe my mouth in an attempt to hide my smirk. “Players prepare for matches in different ways. I’m sure for some a goodnight’s sleep does the trick, but for me, I’ll take an evening ofrough and sweaty sex over a quiet night any day of the week.” I ignorethe glare of my manager, Matt, and nod at the next reporter.

“Ryder, do you think your pre-match actions showed disrespect for youropponent today?”

“How?” I fire back. “I treated the build-up to this match just thesame as I would if I were playing Nadal or Federer. You all seem towant to focus on my life outside of the court. Does anyone here haveany questions about my actual tennis?”

I cross my arms over my chest as Matt bows his head and sighs. Amurmur rises through the crowd before someone puts their hand up. Inod, my eyes locking onto hers. She’s a pretty little thing with long, dark hair and stunning blue eyes. I can tell she’s feisty, and I findmyself wondering if that attitude carries over into the bedroom.

“You play the number two ranked player in the world tomorrow, and your fellow countryman, Jason Dillard. Will you be having an early nighttonight?” she asks. Her full, red lips curve into a grin, and I canfeel myself harden.

I shift in my seat and lean forward, resting my elbows on the table in front of me. “Well, that depends.” I smirk.

“On what?”

“On whether or not you’ll give me your phone number.”

add-to-goodreads-button31

From the summary, I was expecting your regular story where the girl leaves when she finds out she's pregnant. I was wrong, this is soo good!

Told in dual POV you can feel how much pain both, Reed and Ari went through after they break up. And you are begging this time they get a happy ending.

I love Reed. I don't think is possible notto. He knows what he wants and he's not afraid to go for it and when he sees Ari again with a little kid who is obviously his (cookie points for figuring out at first glance) he wants his family and nothing will stand in his way.

Ari is such a strong character. She was hurt so deep but she stayed strong for her son. Having Reed back so suddenly in her life is making her head spin but she never stopped loving him.

The connection between the two of them is explosive. They know exactly what makes the other tick, they are in synch with each other and the chemestry jumps at you from every page.
Davis, their child, is soo sweet it melts your heart.
The secondary characters do so much for the story, helping moving it forward.

I was surprised by this book and I loved how well she managed to balance the sexual tension and situations with the mystery of how they got separated.

“Did you miss me, Arianna?”

I can’t talk so I nod against his neck. One hand glides down my leg and into the hem of my shorts. His finger grazes the edge of the silk of my underwear. He moves the silk to the side and rubs his fingers between my swollen lips. He teases me with his touch until I moan.

“Say it. Say you missed me and I’ll take care of you.”
Smug bastard.

Shaking my head, not giving him the satisfaction. He removes his fingers but uses his whole hand to cup my sex and squeezes. I cry out and then bury my mouth on his shoulder trying to smother the sounds I can’t stop from making. My body begs for the pleasure but my mind won’t give in.

“I feel you trembling. I know exactly what you need. All you have to do is say three little words. ‘I missed you’.”
I try to wiggle away, but his body and one arm has me pinned against the wall. I swivel my hips against his hand trying to get enough contact to relieve myself, but he twists his wrist and squeezes again. The need for release seeps all the way down to my toes. Then I think of something that may get to him.

“Reed?” I whisper.

“Hmmm?”
“If you don’t want to take care of me, I’ve got a very talented BOB in my room that’ll do it. The thought of it actually excites me.”
His body stiffens and his eyes meet mine shining with desire.

“Not fucking happening.”

REVIEW + GIVEAWAY: Why It's Called Falling by Lelie Stephens

Synopsis
Having written off men after being burned too many times, twenty-two-year-old Aspen Williams is ready to finish college and start living her life. She and her best friend head south of the border to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, for their dream vacation. This vacation was to be all about sun, fun and girl time … or so she thought. A chance encounter puts her directly in the path of Hollywood’s hottest leading man, Ryan Lark.

Hollywood stars shine brightly and Ryan Lark is no exception. He is an all-American boy wrapped up in a body made for sin with a face that defined beautiful masculinity. What you don’t see through the glare of the movie screen is a gentle and tender man whose heart and soul have been burned by the very same lights that made him who he is.

In true Hollywood fashion, sparks fly between Aspen and Ryan. Even though she tries not to, Aspen falls fast and hard with hopes that Ryan feels the same way. But she learns the brutal truth of why it’s called falling in love.

With more on the line than they both bargained for, will their final scene be a happily ever after?

Review

Aspen and Ryan get more than they bargained for from a vacation.

Aspen was just looking to relax in the sun with drink and party all night on the vacation of her dreams.  Ryan wanted to take a break from Hollywood with fun and sun and hook-ups.

I thought Aspen was a cool chick, but at some points she annoyed me when she did not stand her ground like she did at the beginning, but she made up for it in the end.  Aspen was NOT a whiny and annoying little girl like I'd expect her to be in this story, which made me very happy.

Although it was nice that the book changed views, I found it odd that it didn't start until a third through the book and it was sudden.  I probably would have hated Ryan though, and never forgiven him if it we didn't get his point of view.  I enjoyed taking a look into his brain and knowing why he did some stuff instead of being stuck in Aspen's point of view and not knowing what was going on.

The story jumps right in and takes off and does not give you a break till the very end.  I loved that the book was a quick and easy read that you can easily finish in a day.  One problem I found was some parts dragged on a little and some parts jumped too fast, but overall it worked out.  I enjoyed some twists and turns that I was not expecting and they hooked me in.

As I turned to leave the room, my eyes fell on a sketch pad and I couldn’t help myself. Sitting back down in the chair I flipped it open and smiled at the drawings inside. Marty had promise for such a young kid. Turning to a blank page, I glanced around and searched for a pencil. Charcoal would be best, but pencil would do.

I started with the lines of his forehead, the curve of his impish nose, the roundness of his cheeks. I was lost in the sketch, enjoying the shadows, the tenderness in his expression, working to capture that moment of utter innocence.

“That’s beautiful.” Her voice was soft.

I looked up from what I was doing, not surprised that she had snuck up on me. When I’m lost in a project, the world disappears; the only thing I’m aware of are the layers of the project I’m working on.

“He’s a good subject.” I turned back to the paper and finished up the shading of the blanket.

“Only because he’s asleep and not moving.” Her quiet laugh sent shivers over my body.

“That does help.” I smiled up at her. “But it’s the contrast. The contrast of him awake versus him asleep. He looks so young right now, so innocent.”

“What do you mean?” She leaned closer to look at the picture.

“He’s so mature, quick-witted.” I whispered the words. “But here he is, looking like the child he is.”

“His teachers say that,” she said. “That he’s quick to pick things up.”

“I’d say so.” I turned and handed her the sketch pad. “I hope you don’t mind that I drew him. The light and shadows were too perfect to resist.” Sort of like her right now. The way the moonlight glinted in her eyes and shone along her hair. Her perfect features would make any artist ache to draw them. Her pixie nose, the heavy eyelashes, the curve of her body hinted at by the oversized sweater she had wrapped around herself. It made my palms itch. Partly because I just wanted to touch her, to see if she would taste as sweet as she looked in that moment.

“Thank you for keeping him entertained.” She stood up. “Can I keep this?”

“Of course.” I stood up and stretched. Her eyes swept over my chest and then back up to my face. Maybe I wasn’t the only one tempted to touch. I hated to admit it, but I had a flare of pride. “I enjoyed hanging out with him.”

I was surprised to realize I meant it. I never would have thought spending time with a six-year-old would have been enjoyable.

“Looks like he did too.” She moved away from the door and I followed her into the hallway.

“Did you get everything settled?”

“I think so.” She frowned.

“What’s wrong?” Her expression worried me.

“Granddad would have hated a large ceremony.” She sighed and headed for the stairs. “But I guess that as a duke there are some things that have to happen.”

“I don’t blame your grandfather.” I followed behind her. “I would want a small ceremony, not to be made into a production.”

“I’m starting to think you don’t like any type of production.” She looked at me over shoulder.

“Not really, no.” I wasn’t going to lie. “I don’t like being the focus, being the center of attention. It makes me uncomfortable.” I wasn’t going to lie, but I hadn’t intended to tell her so much about me.

“And yet you agreed to help me with my grandfather’s funeral.” She turned to me at the bottom of the stairs and set the sketch pad on a table. “Why?”

I stared at her for a minute, enjoying the way her eyes looked up at me, the tilt of her chin, the way her hair cascaded around her shoulders. “I don’t know.”
Unable to help myself, I reached out and touched her cheek with my fingers. Her pupils dilated and she inhaled softly. With one thumb I traced the dip under her plump bottom lip. Her hand reached up to trace my jaw and she took a step closer to me.

“You should be running from me as fast as you can.” She whispered the words. “I’m everything you don’t want.”

“I’m not so sure.”

“I live for the spotlight, it’s my food.” Her eyes were half lidded as she edged closer to my mouth. “And you’ve seen my family. I’m trouble, Max.”
Did I care? I wasn’t sure I was capable of making a real decision as her smell wrapped around my senses. The only thing I knew was that I wanted to taste her, to touch her, to press her against my body. To hear her say my name again.

Dipping my head, I grazed her lips with mine and I was lost. On a sigh, she leaned into me and wrapped her hands around my neck. Tilting her head back, I brought my mouth to hers carefully, softly, tasting. I wanted to deepen the kiss, to hear her moan, to feel the way her body could wrap around mine, but I kept it soft, sweet, and simple. She was in such a hard place, she needed to be protected, treasured by someone.

And right now, I was that person.

Throughout this series, you’ll have a chance to catch up with the cast of the Vampire Erotic Theatre series and learn more about their world. In Claimed by a Demon King, you’ll get to visit the theatre, and some of the favourite characters in the Vampire Erotic Theatre series.

Tempted by a Rogue Prince (Eternal Mates Romance Series Book 3)
Felicity Heaton

An elf prince on the verge of losing himself to the darkness, Vail is maddened by the forty-two centuries he was under the control of a witch and forced to war with his brother. Now, he roams Hell seeking an escape from his terrible past and the heads of all who bear magic. When demons of the Fifth Realm capture him, he sees a chance to end his existence, but when he wakes in a cell to a beautiful female, he finds not death but his only shot at salvation—his true fated mate.

Captured by the enemy of the Third Realm when the war ended, Rosalind has spent months in the cells of the Fifth Realm with her magic bound, forced to heal the new king’s demon warriors, and haunted by the lives she has taken. When she’s brought to heal an unconscious man, she discovers her only hope of escape has come in the form of her worst nightmare and the first part of a prediction that might spell her doom—a devastatingly handsome and dangerous dark elf prince.

Unwilling to fall under the control of anyone ever again, Vail must escape before the Fifth King can use him as a pawn in a deadly game of revenge, but he cannot leave without Rosalind, the woman who looks at him with dark desire in her stunning eyes and awakens a fierce hunger in his heart. A witch who drives him mad with need even as the darkness within whispers she will enslave him too.

Can Rosalind escape her fate as they embark on a journey fraught with danger and resist the temptation of her rogue elf prince? And can Vail overcome the memories that madden him in order to seize his chance for salvation and the heart of his fated female forever?

I loved this book! I apparently love everything Felicity writes. But this, it was painful and beatiful at the same time.

Vail is such a broken man. He hates himself for things he couldn't control, he misses life like it used to be but  he can't escape into those memories without losing himslef to the darkness.

Rosalind is scared. She's scared of her future and she's scared of what she might become after helping King Thorne. Maybe she can't scape her family bussiness and really does belong to the dark side.

This story is about forgiving yourself and finding hope and love. Of letting of the past and live in the present.

The emotions this book bring are dark, hopeful, painful but Felicity manages to keep everything balanced so you don't get too depressed. This book is a roller coaster of emotions. Seeing both of their POVs makes you understand why they hold back the way they do and at the same time you can't help but beg for a happy ending.

Discovering everything that happened to Vail is really shocking. He's one of my favourite characters from this series. And Rosalind is the perfect match for him.

We get to see some of the other character from the previous book, we see where Loren and Olivia are. A little bit of Bleu (yay!) and I can't wait to see more of this world.

Tempted by a Rogue Prince is a great addition to the series. Felicity Heaton is making an amazing job and i can't wait for the next book!

Excerpt #1

He shrugs. “Our relationship only lasted the summer, but I quickly discovered that plenty of girls wanted to have sex with me. I was fine with that.” He looks back at me. “I was fine with that till I met you. You’re the only girl who makes me feel something.”

“Me? I haven’t had sex with you.”

Pain flickers on his face for a brief second. I can tell he’s thinking back to the night he almost tried to take things that far. “No, but just holding you makes me feel alive. This makes me feel alive.” He lowers his lips to mine and lightly kisses my mouth.

His smell, a combination of safety and spice, wraps me in a comforting cocoon. He makes me feel alive.

Excerpt #2

I don’t know how long we’ve been chatting when Marcus glances over my shoulder, for a moment lost in thought. He then closes the space between us, so less than a foot separates us. His hand strokes up and down my hip, molding to my body. He lowers his lips to my ear. “If we’re gonna convince everyone you’re off limits, we need to do more than just stand here and talk. Unless you want people thinking I’m your cousin.”
I swallow hard. “What do you have in mind?”
“Maybe this….” He brushes his fingertips against my neck and moves my hair back, exposing my skin. His head drops and his warm lips teasingly caress my neck.
Fortunately if Jordan sees him kissing me, she won’t clue into what’s really going on. She’ll think we’re hooking up after bumping into each other here.
Or at least I hope that’s what she’ll think.
His tongue flicks against the skin he just kissed. I jerk away.
Relax. Trent used to do that all the time and you never freaked out.
“Whoa, Kitten. I’m not going to hurt you. I’m not that asshole from the party.”
“I know. It’s just…it’s just….” My voice fades away, drowned out by the music.
“It’s just what?”
I shake my head. “It’s nothing. I’m fine.”
Encouraged by my response, Marcus leans in and his lips meet mine, softly, sweetly. But he’s not satisfied enough with that. His lips try to pry mine open.
His mouth presses against mine, hurting me, violating me. I want to scream for him to stop. But that’ll make things worse. He always punishes me when I resist.
My body tenses, heart beating loud and fast, breath equally fast and shallow. I squeeze my eyes shut for a second, fighting against the memory.
Marcus pulls away and searches my face. “It’s okay, Kitten. I swear I’m not going to hurt you.” His fingers brush against my cheek. “You’re safe.”
I can tell from his expression he wants to ask who the hell hurt me. I don’t want to tell him. This is my secret.
